The Cayleff & Sakai Faculty Scholar, in collaboration with, and under the direction of, the Directors of the Women's Resource Center (WRC) and Pride Center, provides support to the Centers. The Faculty Scholar is responsible for recruiting and supporting students in the Women and Gender Equity (WAGE) and Pride House program; responsible for designing and developing creative, engaging and interactive curriculum that aligns with the goals, objectives, and learning outcomes for the seminar course; teaches the weekly seminar class; recruits, interviews, selects, trains and supervises academic coaches; organizes a weekly staff meeting for the mentors; meets with mentors one-on-one to discuss progress and challenges; collaborate with the WRC/Pride Center leadership on programming; attend Center events.
This position will be called upon as a resource in responding to sensitive equity, crisis and individualized issues as they relate to gender equity and LGBTQ+ students. This position may serve as a mentor advisor to students and will work with interns and student assistants to design and deliver programs for students, and University employees to promote leadership development, equity, multicultural education, social equality, and to address the intersectionality of identities such as gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, class and ability. This position will promote the WRC and Pride Center and raise awareness of gender equity and LGBTQ+ excellence and student concerns through supporting events/programs, written materials and through representation on campus wide committees.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base) benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2022, with the possibility for reappointment. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
