CASTING CALL FOR AESCHYLUS SEVEN AGAINST THEBES!

Theater in Greece and Rome (TIGR) Casting Call for Aeschylus’ Seven against Thebes at CAMWS 2022

A play savaged for the lack of action in its central shield scene. No longer. In 2013, Fritz-Gregor Herrmann conjectured a vital stage direction was lost: Eteocles casts lots during the central scene. TIGR proudly presents a table reading of Seven that restores Herrmann’s conjecture. Come see Eteocles casting lots and going toe-to-toe with fate on Thursday 24 March 2022 at CAMWS in Winston-Salem, NC.

The show will be directed by Edwin Wong, who will also be presenting an individual talk on “Eteocles’s Patriotic Response in Aeschylus’s Seven against Thebes.” Come join us for this Aeschylean extravaganza! Timothy Wutrich will moderate the talkback after the show. For Wong’s vision of the play, see: https://melpomeneswork.com/a-risk-theatre-reading-of-aeschyluss-seven-against-thebes/
