Three members of the Latin Development Committee for the Advanced Placement Program will discuss news about the program and also stress the features that remain constant. The audience it addresses is varied: Latin teachers in middle or high school who have not taught an AP syllabus will learn more about what an AP course entails and about best practices to prepare their students in earlier levels of Latin. Experienced Latin teachers will be interested to hear about the results on this year’s exam, how students nationwide performed, and to discuss strategies for improving student performance. College and university teachers who are not familiar with the AP program will gain a clearer understanding of the quality of preparation that the scores of their students reflect. Participants will have ample time for raising questions and for discussion.
