Boulder has 500 restaurants, and most of them are quite good.  We shall let you know about a few of our favorites.

Restaurants Within Walking Distance of the Harvest House Hotel

California Pizza Kitchen                                                                      $$

This national chain serves interesting pizzas, distinctive pastas, salads, soups, appetizers, and desserts.   Eat in or carry out.  Located in the 29th Street Mall area.

Cantina Laredo                                                                                   $$$
1680 29th Street.  303 444-2260.
The cantina,  also located in the 29th Street Mall area, serves authentic Mexican dishes in a sophisticated atmosphere.  The menu includes grilled fish, chicken, and steaks.  Lunch/Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

Modmarket                                                                                         $$

Here you will find freshly prepared salads, soups. sandwiches and pizzas made from whole ingredients served in a casual atmosphere.  Many gluten free dishes. Located in the 29th Street Mall area. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner. Reservations not accepted.

Tiffins India Café                                                                                $

Tiffins is a humble restaurant featuring many vegetarian and vegan dishes of traditional South Indian fare.  Patrons may order online or by phone, eat in, or carry out. Located in the Arapahoe Village Shopping Center. Lunch/Dinner.

Pizzeria da Lupo                                                                                 $$

Many think this is the best pizza place in Boulder.  It is entirely gluten free and offers excellent food at very reasonable prices.  Located in the Village Boulder Shopping Center, across Arapahoe from the Arapahoe Village Shopping Center. Lunch, Happy Hour, Dinner.

Red Robin’s Burger Works                                                                  $$

Burgers of all types, including vegetarian, steak fries and other comfort foods are served here quickly.  Red Robin is the closest restaurant to the Millenium Harvest House, located in the Arapahoe Village Shopping Center, immediately north of the hotel Lunch/Dinner.

Zolo Grill                                                                                            $$$

Zolo serves southwestern fare with a contemporary twist. This is a lively place in the Village Boulder shopping center that can become noisy.  Lunch/Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

Volta  Mediterranean Restaurant                                                        $$$$

Volta, a farm to table restaurant, offers a lovely setting and quiet ambiance.  Greek dishes are featured.  Its location is on the north side of the Village Boulder Shopping Center.  Lunch/Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

Café Aion is housed in an old house near the University of Colorado. It is an open, friendly place offering tapas made from local, seasonal ingredients.  Brunch, Lunch, Happy Hour, Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

The Cork                                                                                            $$$

The Cork is Boulder’s favorite steakhouse, and it serves superb seafood as well.  It is located in a warm adobe building on 30th Street with excellent parking.  Lunch, Happy Hour, Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

Dushanbe Teahouse                                                                           $$

This beautiful building, featuring hand-painted walls and ceilings, was a gift to Boulder from its sister city in Tajikistan.  The décor alone makes a visit worthwhile, and its selection of teas is amazing.  The menu features Asian and Middle Eastern inspired cuisine. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations accepted for large parties.

Frasca Food and Wine                                                                        $$$$

Frasca is arguably  Boulder’s best restaurant, winning award after award, year after year, for both its food, inspired by the cuisine of Friuli, Italy, and its wine, all served in an elegant dining room by a highly skilled wait staff.  Dinner.  Reservations.

Illegal Pete’s                                                                                      $

Giant burritos, a menu of Mexican/American dishes and a full bar with several Colorado beers on tap makes this local Colorado restaurant a favorite spot on the Pearl Street Mall.  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations not accepted.

The Kitchen is a farm to table bistro located in an old building in downtown Boulder, one block west of the Pearl Street Mall. Its dishes are consistently excellent, and its atmosphere warm and friendly. Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

This French restaurant, east of the Pearl Street Mall and across the street from Frasca, is esteemed for its reliably succulent dishes.  Lunch offers the best values, but dinner is worth a visit.  Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery                                                              $$

Local craft beers and a yummy selection of pub food is served at this popular place east of the Pearl Street Mall.  Its hippie vibe screams Boulder.  Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations not accepted.

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant                                                          $$

The Rio is a long-time Boulder favorite offering flavorful Mexican food, award-winning (and famously potent) Margaritas, a festive atmosphere, and excellent service.  One block from the Pearl Street Mall.  Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations accepted.

Salt serves contemporary food in a lively dining room very near the Pearl Street Mall. The restaurant secures most of its ingredients from local farmers and changes its menu by the seasons.  Lunch, Dinner.  Reservations accepted.
