Policy on CAMWS Advertising and Publications
The Classical Association of the Middle West and South has the responsibility as well as the right to exercise control over the content of its publications and advertising in order to insure that they reflect its mission statement (https://camws.org/about/missionstatement.php), core values of diversity and inclusion (https://camws.org/diversitycharter), and commitment to professional ethics (https://classicalstudies.org/about/scs-statement-professional-ethics). These goals include fostering communication and exchange among teachers and scholars, defending the fair and professional treatment of all its members, and advocacy for the study of Classics and the humanities in general. The Classical Association of the Middle West and South strives to uphold these goals in all of its publications and advertising. An advertisement in the publications of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South does not constitute an endorsement of content. Members of the organization or other affiliated parties concerned about misconduct (e.g., allegations of fraud or of discriminatory, irresponsible, or exploitative practices) on the part of an individual or group advertising with the Classical Association of the Middle West and South should direct their concerns to the Secretary-Treasurer, who will bring them to the attention of the President and the Executive Committee.
