Back in the 1970's, when I was a graduate student at the University of Michigan, one of my most beloved professors was Glenn Knudsvig. Not only was he himself a naturally gifted teacher, but he had a knack for motivating others to become teachers as well. As this memorial for him aptly puts it, he was "a teacher of teachers" and "passionate about the facilitation of learning." With his great integrity and boundless energy, he was a wonderful role model.
