Please honor Eleanor Little of Dubuque Senior High School in Dubuque, Iowa. Miss Little was my first Latin teacher of almost 75 years ago, who bore the slings and arrows of classrooms filled with rambunctious--and often cruel--teenagers. Despite all this, she taught me how to study (!) and introduced me to Latin and the Classics. She kept the faith through it all, and I have appreciated that over these many years.
