Celebration for Joy King

The CU Boulder Department of Classics has organized a celebration of Joy King, 1926-2022 for Friday, October 21st at 5 p.m. Mountain Time. The event will take place in person (Humanities 135) & on Zoom. Professor Joy King was an extraordinary classicist who made substantial and longstanding contributions to the Department of Classics, the University of Colorado Boulder, and the discipline of Classics. This event will highlight and celebrate the many critical interventions that she made over the course of her illustrious career. Speakers will include: Mary De Forest (CU Denver) Elspeth Dusinberre (CU Boulder) Barbara Hill (CU Boulder) Judith P. Hallett (University of Maryland) Georgia Irby (William & Mary) Tyler Lansford (CU Boulder) Sherwin Little (American Classical League) Noel Lenski (Yale University) Alison Orlebeke (Hamden Hall Country Day), and Paul King.
