Patricia Craig is completing her MA in Greek and Latin at the Catholic University of America, and plans to go on to the PhD, which she anticipates completing in 2019. She plans a career teaching Classics, and is looking forward to integrating an archaeological and material culture perspective into her classrooms as well as her scholarly research. Particularly striking about Patricia are the strong contributions she has already made to pedagogy, teaching many courses of Latin at the university and secondary school levels, and also contributing to the Upward Bound Program in 2014. Patricia is committed to using this summer to engage with archaeology on the ground. She has applied not only to the field school at Maremma, Tuscany, which CAMWS award will enable, but hopes to follow this with either a summer session at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens or the Getty Seminar in Material Culture. Her initiative and clarity of purpose are exceptional, as are the bridges she will build, aided by CAMWS award, building between text and site, classroom and research.
