College Greek Exam: Fall Administration!

Χαῖρε The College Greek Exam (CGE), the first and only nationally standardized exam for assessing students in their first year of college-level Greek (normally in their second semester) is once again being offered in the Fall season for Greek classes that begin in the Spring. If you are finishing your beginning Greek sequence this term, we hope you and your students will participate in the Eighth Annual (2016) exam. The Ninth Annual Exam (2017) will take place in March.

The current syllabus is posted at www.dramata.com. Previous exams, reports, and more are posted as well. We ask that you administer the exam during a class period in the month of October, 2016. Completed exams must be mailed by October 31 to be scored. If you are interested in participating in the exam, please let me know via e-mail (wmajor@lsu.edu ) promptly; tell us how many exams you will need and confirm an address for mailing them.

Once again, because of support from the Committee for the Promotion of Greek (part of NCLG; see www.promotelatin.org) and Louisiana State University, there will be NO CHARGE for exams this year. Medals and ribbons are awarded through the generosity of Eta Sigma Phi and the University of Georgia, and we recognize the top score at each school. And new this year: CAMWS awards the Ed Phinney Book Prize for students with a perfect score on the exam (or coming closest to a perfect score)!
