Colleague in Need

Dear colleagues,

During the last two weeks, one of our dedicated members was affected by the remnants of Hurricane Matthew.  Thalia Hocker, a Virginia Beach Latin teacher and Tidewater Classical Symposium member, and her family were forced from their home by the flooding.  They have lost almost all of their belongings and insurance is not offering much support.  She was interviewed by WTKR 3 and there are a few ways you can help her.  First, all day today (Wed. Oct. 26) there will be a fundraising drive for her at Ocean Eddie's Seafood Restaurant (VA Beach Fishing Pier, 1415 Atlantic Ave, 757-425-7742).  You can stop by anytime between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., drop off any items you want to donate and enjoy some good food!  In addition, there is a gofundme account for Thalia.  Please donate what you can.
